I recently found some websites that use a widget that is an image, but when you click on it, it redirects to a random post on your website.

In fact people often have a header something to the effect 'Click here to see a Random post'.

I use an old Matt Mullenweg Random Redirect plugin to do this. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/random-redirect/ the plugin works great, just by adding an image link to a text widget.

The problem is unless you are a very graphical website it does not seem to increase page views as hoped. I think the reason is, people go to a website looking for specific information, not random information.

However, if you have a website like the 'cutest horses' it might work as people do not mind clicking to see random photos of cuteness.

Great idea but with a narrow focus, that is image websites, unless I do not know how to leverage this for more article based sites.

A mistake mostly by newbies is installing too many plugins instead of installing just the correct plugins as you have mentioned.

If you use the plugin authors update it will overwrite the SEO changes I made to the Copyfeed code of the version on this page.

When I get some time will check if the update is important, I have the current version working fine in WordPress 3.2.1

I have been tinkerin with websites lately for the first time in over 10 years. Alot has changed and as I build and learn and am constantly scouring the net to find simplicity in this overcomplicated world.... I found you! Answer to my prayers! Thank you for existing and taking the complications out of an otherwise pretty simple (cut and dry) process in site building! I have toured SEO till I wanted to poke myself in the juggler with a rusty chainsaw. Played with All in One, Platinum, Yoast and yes even the new almighty SEOpressor....As I played with each one I sought out instructions on what might be the best settings and ways to use each one - THAT SUCKED! (pardon my tongue)
And then there was you! Thank You kind Sir! For just being you, first off. and for writing in a way that gives life back its simplicity - Thank you thank you thank you! You are so Super Duper and when the economy comes back and my career returns I will buy from you first. just for all that you give in the free world to us poor half-educated site building dreamers. You give me my vision back..and hope grew a bit bigger in stumbling upon you and yours. Keep up the good work and Cheers to you!

Unlikely to be a theme issue, have no experience with the plugin, so no idea what the problem is.

Hi David.

OK this may not be a Stallion problem but I need to eliminate that from my list.

I have a plugin called Splash Plugin by kevin Lamb. You can view it here: http://splashplugin.com/buy-now/

The plugin creates a little tab at the edge of your screens which then pops out when you hover over it. You can view it at the above page.

I installed it and everything was working fine but for some reason it stopped working. I contected the developer and I also went to my Hosting provider, Justhost, to make sure there weren't any server issues (which i think there might have been because I was getting Wordpress errors). Justhost came back and said "they'd fixed the problem" but no joy.

I also deleted the plugin and reinstalled as advised by the developer, but still no joy.

When I view the source code of the "Show Content" tab I created seems to have duplicate code in the page, see lines 20 through 68 of the page. Each "Show Cotent" tab is created similar to a post but it then relates to left and right hand splash bars.

So when I delete a plugin or delete the "Show Content" splash bar should Stallion delete the code somehow?

Apologies that this isn't directly related to Stallion David, but of course it might be hence the need to eliminate it.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

regards
