WordPress 2.3

WordPress 2.5 was released a couple of days ago so I’ve been updating my own WordPress installations (have over 50 of them) to version 2.5 and testing the WordPress AdSense/SEO themes available to buy on this site to make sure there are no issues.

Looks like they have made no major changes to the template system in WordPress 2.5 since all my 2.3 compatible AdSense/SEO themes are also WordPress 2.5 compatible, so anyone who has bought a theme from this site and kept up to date with the free updates I email out whenever I do an update should have no major problems when updating to WordPress 2.5.

Targeted AdSense Coding: Option from Google AdSense, we’ve incorporated this feature into all of our WP themes including Naruto Strikes Back. The targeted AdSense coding can not be used with popular AdSense addons for WordPress, unless you edit your theme manually.

I finally bit the bullet and took a look at the widget plugin, well to be precise widgets are included with WordPress 2.3 and 2.5 so took a look at that

Figured out how to use widgets and have added them to a test version of the Talian theme, just a matter of cleaning up the coding and adding the appropriate code to all the themes on the site now. As long as I get the time shouldn’t take more than a week to update all WordPress themes and send them out to current customers (update: only took a few days, all current and future themes are/will be widget friendly).

Update: added widget support to all AdSense/SEO WordPress themes on the site
